I am considering purchasing some rims but they have been painted (appears professional).  Anyone know how to remove it and how much it will cost?

Yeah, they're RS4 rims.

I've found that rim paint can be quickly removed by driving too close to the curb ; )

go and get some aircraft paint remover spray at autozone.  I'd do it with the wheels off the car, and within reach of a hose.  Try to avoid getting the spray on your tires.  About 2 minutes after spraying, you will see all the paint start to bubble off. wait a few more minutes and spray off with hose. you are done.  be sure to treat whatever metal (aluminum/steel) with some form of clearcoat or wax polish, or they will dull.
