HELP, bought after market rims for my TT and they don't fit!
Up to Audi TT Forum
I'm really hoping someone can give me some help and answers here. I purchased a set of rims and tires off of Ebay, after talking to an Audi dealership and other places to make sure they would fit my car. I have a 04 TT DSG with 18x8 rims now, the tires are 225. The rims I purchased are 18x7.5, and I upgraded the tires to 245/40/18, which Audi said would fit. Here is the ebay link:

SO I took them to Discount Tire, they tried them and they appear to be rubbing against this "clip" that is under the spring of the strut? They showed me and it looks like it would slice right through the tire. So I called Audi and they said I might need a spacer, but then I talked to a custom wheel place and they said if the spacer isnt' custom made the vibrations will be terrible on the interstate? The place I ordered the rims said to use a spacer and hub centric rings. I don't know what to do? I can't return them and am thinking about just having the tires I have now put on these rims, but I hate to not use these new tires that are really nice. Any advice??? Discount also said they were afraid to use the lugs the rims came with, said they didn't think they were safe? I really don't have a clue, any help would be appreciated...
Lexani Tires are made by Nexen, a Japanese company, and the ADR wheels are made by Golden Apple Corp, whatever that is. If you try to go to their website, it attempts to run phony antivirus software on your computer. You paid less for four wheels, tires, and lugnuts than I paid for my last set of Avon tyres. I think you've been had. Cut your losses, get rid of the tires and the wheels, and buy yourself some name brand gear. The last thing you want is to have a cheap import tire or wheel fail as you round a corner.
