Switch for interior lights

A guy in my negiborhood has a 2002 Coupe. His driver side door switch that controls the interior lights, window lowering upon entry, and dash panel activation has stoped working. The passenger side works fine. We could not find the switch and i could not find anything on it in my Bentley manual. Is the switch in the latch inside the door? Has anyone worked on this that can recomend a fix?
