Wheel alignment and camber...etc

Posted by sunburn731 at May 13. 2008

So I need to replace 4 tires on my TTQ after driving down the highway one of my rear tires nearly ripped off the rim. It turns out the  alignment or camber was off and the tire was wearing unevenly to the point that it wore on the edge and the binding broke on the tire. So anyways my question is, can I take my car to an alighment shop to have the alignment and camber adjusted or can only the dealership do that. I heard that audi has a proprietary tool that they only have to do alignments/camber....etc Is that true?

ALso anyone brave enough to put on Chinese performance tires?  Nanking or Sunny tires?   http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=110110

I've taken mine to regular tire shops for alignment with no problems.  No way I would touch a Chinese tire.  There have been huge recalls.
