Not working turn signal

Posted by cayala01 at May 08. 2008

Hello everyone, I need help, the lights work. What is not responding are the LEVERS by the stearing wheel, both are not responding. The left does not activate the turning lights, but activates the rest (highbeam, cruise control). The right does not activate the wipers at all, it does work for the rest. I already checked the fuses and they work. What could be?

Could be either the evil cluster, or possibly a broken switch.  If it's the cluster, it should be covered by the settlement agreement.

Hey, thanks for your comment, I've decided yesterday taking it to the shop; the problem was the ignition switch, the specialist said the caused could happened when gauges were installed and who did the job did not know about voltage configuration and restrictions. By the way those gauges (Boost and Air meter) had to be taken off because the fuse box was smoking and getting on fire because of the bad connections. He showed me the cables were melting and caused the switch to burn out, he also mentioned I did the right thing to bring it right away otherwise major demages could caused if keep driving it in those conditions. The repair cost $396.00 :(

As is since I bought this vehicle 3 years ago I had spent almost $8000.00 in repairs and maintenance  ONLY. Not adding what the warranty had allegedly covered. Nice looking car, but EXPENSIVE to maintain, as crazy as sounds I am hesitant to buy another car. But if you are considering buying one, do your homework and make sure you have money to invest in this car because is WORST than having a WIFE.

Or, possibly, not quite as expensive as having my husband.
