Attachment for removable hardtop
Up to Audi TT Forum
I've got an option to buy a removable hardtop for my 2001 roadster but understand that it is secured to the car with two pegs that are attached to the rear edge of the hardtop that fit into two holes somewhere near the back of of the doors in the convertible top storage area. The top is also secured to the windshield using the same device that holds the convertible top down. My question is, has anyone purchased a removable hardtop (made available in the UK) and been successful in obtaining the mounting hardware/modifications for attaching the top here in the states? Also, if you happen to have a removable top, are you happy with it? Any water/air leaks, rattles, etc.?

Looks expensive and fairly daunting. No ideas about costs, but you can guess.
Whats actually really cool is that if you look back to the original TT sketches, this was what it was initially intended to look like, not like the coupe we see today...
Thanks for the link to the photos. The cost isn't too bad but the shipping to the states from the UK won't be cheap. I doubt I'll go for it I can't find any details on how the top attaches to the car especially for the attachment of the rear lip. Does anyone know if the U.S. models will accommodate? Also, I did not realize that the outer shell is actually plastic. The photos look good but I wonder how the top weathers.
