rear badging

Posted by Richard Schons at August 26. 2010

does anyone know if the rear badging on the car are applied with double-sided tape... or if they actually have the pin-holes drilled into the trunk lid?

I'd like to remove all badging, but if it requires me filling holes and repainting, then I may put this off a little longer (possibly even look into getting black audi rings.

thanks!

If its a Mk1...

1) No holes, just tape. Use a heat gun or a hot summer day and some floss and goo-gone, they come right off.

2) Once you pull your rings off, you can paint them with gloss black or use plasti-dip (rubberized paint, flat color) looks great. You can put them back on using silicone glue.

I did this, I have a black TT with no badges and Black rights front (Plastidip) and Rear (Glossed).

Sounds good to me and will any type of spray paint work for the rings?

I used an all weather gloss black for the rear and plasti-dip for the fronts.
