I am new to the forums and new to the ownership of my TT. This past saturday I purchased a 2001 Audi TT roadster 225hp as a fun weekend car.

I have read numerous posts, but had one that I thought may be a little more specific. I apologize if I have missed a similar post (read about 100 pages already LOL).

I am looking to do some very simple modifications to my car to increase HP (though MPG would be great, too). I would like for my car to be unique, but not looking for 400+ HP. Just thought I'd get some input from experienced TT owners/enthusiasts. I've owned 2 scion tC... one of which I supercharged, but I am not at all knowledgable in turbos/audis.

All suggestions welcome... or any links to previous posts.

Also, if anyone is aware of enthusiast groups in the washington DC area, please let me know.

Easiest is to replace the ECU chip program.  Adds 10% to 20% more HP for about $500.  Sold by several Audi tuners.

wow... 10% to 20% would equate to about 25-50 additional HP. thats insane! if anybody has any links to chips they find that have worked well, please let me know! (though I assume I can do some research on the forums and find some helpful info).

Also, I really like the sound of a BOV but am completely ignorant to them. is this something that is fairly easy to install myself? what mods should I do in conjunction with a BOV? How much will this cost and do you have any recommendations on brand?

thinking of getting a throaty (yet subtle) exhaust system. i've heard Borla mentioned a few times. Curious if anyone has any recommendations on systems they've tried and liked (and especially systems that you did not like).

I've looked up several websites, but not had much luck. I keep seeing $39 to $69 ECU chips and I dont think thats what I want. LOL.

nevermind, I found a pretty good one, i think.

APR tuning makes a chip (and has a service location 17 miles from my house) for $499 installed. seems like a deal to me.

below is my list of items I think I'd like for my car. thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated. sorry to flood this forum the last 48 hours.

ECU Chip (as previously mentioned), 18 inch wheels/tires (probably wait until spring to purchase), some sort of CAI (suggestions welcome), H&R lowering springs (and some sort of performance shocks/struts), BOV (just because I love the sound mainly), black lip spoiler to replace current silver (body color) spoiler... to match the black rims, some sort of exhaust (expecting to spend about $1000 on this).

looking to have a clean, fast car around 275HP for around $5000. what do you think?

does anyone know the body weight of the 01 tt 225 roadster? (cars in the shop currently so i cant check).
