Is there such thing as a performance timing belt kit?

I'm looking to change my TB real soon, but was wondering if there is something better than the OEM kit?
After reading much about TB failures I wanted to make sure when I install my new kit its going to be durable.
And why does audi still use a belt? Don't you think by now after all these belt failures, there cars could be chain driven like bmws...
