TT / DSG - reactivate Launch COntrol

Does anybody know how to re-activate the DSG "Launch Control" fro an '06 TT?? I have had "0" luck finding any info on this...thanks!! eric@contractorsnorthwest.com
Launch control is, as I understand it, only available on DSG equipped European TTs. (i.e. not available on the standard auto transmission, nor on manuals)
I was told by an Audi mechanic that the chip with the launch control feature, or not, is situated deep inside the DSG transmission... and that replacing this chip with the Euro chip would enable launch control.
However, it requires a significant dis-assembly of the transmission, including removal from the car.
He said that most Audi service guys will not even attempt to disassemble the DSG transmission- rather, they are replaced and the broken one sent to Audi for re-furbishment.
If you can get a mechanic to order the Euro version of the DSG transmission- it should install with Launch Control available.
IF you want to buy a new tranny.
Otherwise, you would have to find a service tech who feels comfortable tearing down a DSG...and who would be willing to order the replacement chip from Audi.
I will look into it again if I ever have a problem with my DSG that looks to need teardown to fix... otherwise... its not really worth the expense.
