Hello all,

As the topic says, I'm a new owner of an awesome 02 TT 225, and new to this board. I have a question about the K&N 57i series kit (57-0479), I just purchased and installed it on my car. When driving I noticed the suction noise when Im on the throttle, but, when I lift off, it produces the same sound as if I had a BOV. Now, doing a search, I read that BOV's aren't ideal for our cars due to the MAF and I would hate to cause any type of damage by installing the kit. It really sounds like its venting to atmosphere! Am I just being paranoid?

I also have a weird feeling like, the car isn't pulling as hard as it was before installing the K&N kit!? Is that just me being dumb, or has anyone else experienced this as well?

I'm awaiting delivery of a Forge Splitter, which should be coming in tomorrow. Any problems using both the K&N and the Splitter together? (I think I'm just paranoid from the sound the filter is making...)

Well you explained it pretty well so I have an idea of what you're saying.  someone else might be able to tell you better but not I unless I heard it.  What it might be is you get to hear the suction when under load but when you let off the gas, the DV blows back into your intake and echos through the new intake?  Just throwing an idea out there.

What do you mean Forge Splitter?

Just use the 007 DV with teh yellow spring. Did you get any new software?

Hi Ryan, thanks for the information, I think you're correct. Either way, after installing the Splitter the extra noise went away, i think I was just being a bit paranoid!

I have it installed and it works great! I am looking into new software, I'm thinking either GIAC or APR. Any recommendations?
