I am looking for a fun driving car that I can drive all year round, basically an AWD convertible.
I live in Edmonton Canada. From time to time we get snow and other slippery conditions.
In fact there is only one month, July, that has never had snow.
I am wondering what people's experience is driving the AWD TT with four good snow tires in the snow, ice and other slippery conditions.

I live in Boulder, Colorado and use my 06 TT AWD as my regular ski car about 30 times a year. I do put ice tires on for the winter and find it to be the best thing I have ever driven in the snow. Really deep snow can be a problem due to the ground clearance, but has never stopped me so far. Sometimes the drive up the mountains is more fun than the skiing. I have amazed some of my passengers that are watching other cars skidding all over the place, while I just drive on like it was dry pavement.

We live in the snow belt in West Michigan and drive the TT year round. With snow tires, we could plow snow. Also have a SH AWD Acura TL that is very good in snow but not as quite as good as the TT. As previous poster noted, clearance can be an issue, but we have pretty good snow removal services here and practically speaking it has not been an issue. The high performance summer tires are not safe below 32 degrees even on dry pavement. Don't think about trying them out in snow or ice.
