top detaching from glass! HELP ASAP!
Up to Audi TT Forum
I have a 2005 TT and the fabric from the top is falling down from the glass, i went to get a budget to fix it and they told me i had to buy a new top which is $1200!
I was wondering if someone had an idea, such as using a product to glue it back or sewing some more fabric, buying a used top or even changing the glass to plastic etc!!
I am in the Broward, Florida Area, if you now some shops that do this around here that would be great!
thanks!

went through the same thing with my 2001. the bond between the glass and the top material can only be done in the factory, so nothing short of a new top worked.
$1200 is what i paid.
good luck.

I have a 2003 and this summer my rear window started coming apart from the convertible. I did a ton of searches and found an answer on a corvette site of all places.

it would be very helpful to have someone help you; I did it by myself and it was a bear, but I did it and it only cost me $20.00 and some patience.
Here is the link that I got my nerve to try it on my own:

It suggests using the Rhino stuff, but I needed to repair mine right away so I ran to NAPA and bought it.
Word of caution!!!!!
TAKE YOUR TIME.... remember that a razor blade will help clean any excess off the glass
get some surgical gloves... the black stuff is a nightmare to get off your fingers.... I used mineral spirits and it took 90% of it off the hands.
Good luck

I have a 2001 TT convertible. Just love it. Mint condition. BUT, I just noticed a separation of glass and fabric on top at bottom left and right corners. Now I noticed it is separated inside too. So I parked it until I can purchase the glue and fix it.
Thank you for your research...I will no doubt copy your fix!
