Hey Everyone,
The names Zach. I just recently bought a black 2000 Audi TT Quatrro, Im 18 years old and bought the car with most of the money i earned from working. Lvoe the car to death, but just recently brought the car to the Audi dealership and they say i need to replace the timing belt... I dont know if i should have the dealership do it for more expenive or do it myself. Im pretty well equipped when it comes to mechannical items. Just finished a year long project of rebuilding/building a 1969 Ferrari Dino Replica (Kelmark GT). The car has about 120,000 miles on it and is great shape besides this.
Does anyone have an opinion on what i should do?
Thanks,
Zach
Hi Zach. Welcome to the board and congrats on the TT... I just went through the timing belt fiasco on my 2003 TT and my opinion is: If you have the time and skills (sounds as though you have the skills) to do it, do it yourself. If not, then take it to a good shop other than an Audi Dealership, unless you have found an Audi Dealership that you can trust and doesn't want you to sign over your first born. Keep us posted on the outcome...
