Turbo keeps on coming loose at exhaust manifold

Posted by Fanie Olivier at July 15. 2010

Hi Guys,

Hope you guys are well and enjoying your TT's.

I came across a problem that seems to come up now on a weekly basis, My turbo keeps on coming loose where it bolts onto the exhaust manifold then obviously the gasket gets burnt due to the leak. I have tried EVERYTHING i put in new bolts with new gaskets with tread lock etc i even scheemed the manifold and turbo where the gasket comes.

With this said the stupid mechanic adjusted my actuator so now i am left with an actuator that is adjusted eather too much or to little as the car is not pulling as i remember it pulling. where should i lock the actuator? I heard that you need to loosen it up and push it as far as you can with your hand and then lock it, after that you turn it another 2 treads stiffer?

Any advise will be much appretiated.

Thanks

your waste actuator really has nothing to do with the car pulling I can not imagine anything in that area that would make it pull THE only thing that maybe pulling your turbo away from the exhaust manifold would be the dogbone has rotted out and the bushings need replaced an ease job to do as the dogbone assist like motor mounts in the stabelizing of the pulls and stops keeps the engine in a frame of comfort TTSTUFF sales energy suspension dogbone bushings I would take a look at that along with the motor mounts

the pulling I would ask the mechanic to show you what he messed with.
