2001 TT A/C Help!

Posted by jon epstein at June 23. 2010

Hello everybody, I'm new to the board and was hoping to get som help from fellow owners. My a/c just quit workig one day and will work every now and then. I know their is a suffecient charge of freon in the system. When I turn the system on neither the fans or compressor engage likr they should. I have checked fuse 16 as well as the fuses above the battery and everyhig is good. I removed the connector from the pressure switch and jumped it with a paper clip, I can get the fans to turn on buy doing this but the compressor will not engage. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

I would check to make sure you have a path (continuity) through the 30 amp fuse block.  The fuse may not be blown but if that path is damaged then you won't have power to run the fans or ac.  I had the fuse blow and melt some but just barely managed to get a new fuse to work.  I guess you can get a replacement block for around $60 bucks.
