Haldex?

Posted by bjack43 at May 11. 2008
I know this has been a topic on many forums but I have been unable to get a definitive solution. I have a 2002 225 Quattro. The Haldex unit is acting up when the car is put into reverse and turning at the same time or when go forward with a fairly sharp turn. The rear wheels seem to lock and hop until the car gets straightened out. Audi Service likes to ignore the problem by saying I need to replace the Haldex! Others have stated change the fluid and filter (it has been every 20,000 miles). I even emailed Haldex in Sweden. They referred me to the Detroit facility. They never respond!
Has anyone else had this problem and found a cure other than removing fuse 31 and making the car a front wheel drive only?

Mayhaps this is a perfect opportunity to swap your existing haldex for the one sold by Audi TT Shop UK... which puts 60% of the power to the rear wheels for better straight-line acceleration.

I mean, if you are stuck getting a new Haldex... might as well be a performance mod, right?
