Acceleration issue result (was occasional jerkiness)

I had posted a while back (and now cannot find) about the hesitation my '01 was experiencing on an occasional basis. Today it is in for regular service, and they find that the Cam Adjuster is not functioning, which they think is the probable cause of the erratic acceleration.
So, those out there with similar issues and age of car might want to get this checked. Fuel injector cleaner (additives) did not help the issue.
