My 2002 TT Quattro Roadster has 65000 miles on it.  Lately the steering has not been as accurate as I think it was.  Then, I noticed that there is a littlel bit of play in the steering wheel.  It's not terrible, but I have been so used to the spot on handling of this car.  I took it to a German mechanic.  He thought the rack, ball joint ends, etc., looked good, but he claimed the passenger side inner CV joint was bad so I had it replaced.  I still had the same issue, so I took it to Audi.  They said everything looked fine.  Has anyone had this steering wheel free play issue?
