Transmission problem
Up to Audi TT Forum
Hello, hoping for advice.
TT owner for 2 months, no warranty, purchased from the Audi dealer. Started noticing a clunk at the moment clutch is released and gas reapplied, coming from the front. Went to the dealer and independent transmission shop, both gave me the same answer - the clunk is coming from the gearbox. Everything else is fine - clutch, mounts, CV joints, etc. Indy transmission shop wouldn't touch the car due to not having enough expertise. The dealer wants $1500 to drop the transmission and check out to see what's the problem is (not fixing, just diagnosing). Don't know what to do. Any thoughts, pointers, advises are greatly appreciated.
P.S. Doesn't seem to affect the performance at least at this point, just annoying clunk. The shop told me it might last for 10 years and not a big deal or might die unexpectedly, hard to tell what the problem is.
Thank you
John

Hi,
Based on yr explanation, suspected the problem come from engine mounting due to that engine is low and
withdrawal occurs during clutch released.
