I'll buy this TT. what do you think about? (especially price)
Hi, members. I live in LA. I'll buy this TT at tomorrow, so I was wondering if I get some advices from members.
These are my TT's specs.
Exterior: Brilliant Black
Interior: Ebony
Engine: 1.8L DOHC SMPI 20-valve I4 turbocharged engine
VIN #: TRUTC28N0Y1001127
Transmission: Manual
Mileage: 71,274
its price is $10,981. I'll buy that from AUDI's dealer.
What do you think about that?

according to the Bentley manual, you're buying a 2000 - 180 hp Roadster. I'd make sure the timing belt has been changed with 70K miles. This will set you back 1K. If it has, and everything works, it's an okay price.

Not a bad price but as another member mentioned those cars are prone to premature timing belt failure and unless they can prove to you that they changed the timing belt and the other items that go with it like the Waterpump, Tensioner, Accessory Belt and Thermostat. I would either have them do it before you buy it or stay away from it. If the timing belt goes you are looking at 6000-7000 to get that motor rebuilt. Also check the instrument cluster very carefully. That is another issue with the early vehicles from 2000-2003. They temp and fuel needles will start to fail and the pixels in the main display will start to mess up. Another very costly repair.
Once you do get it make sure you change the temp Sensor from the faulty black unit to the new and improved Green Sensor. That is an easy swap and you can get a temp sensor online for about 20 bucks or from the Stealer for about 45 bucks. Installation takes about 3 minutes if you have an aftermarket intake or about 10 minutes if you don't. Very easy and will avoid some well known headaches.
Other than that have fun with your new ride
