if you're near Sacramento. Figure around a hundred for a used one a yard has removed, or fifty at a Pick-and-Pull.

Apparently the last people who did my oil change did not replace the front fasteners for my skid plate. The result? It's now gone. Luckily I caught it before it came completely off and ripped up the bottom of my car. Now, I need a new one. Do I HAVE to go to the dealership for this? And anyone have an idea of how much it will cost. I have a 2001 TT Quattro convertible. Thanks in advance for your help. Trevor

Super Wal Mart did this to me. I thought Oh, Boy here I go....but no, they were great. Took my info at the store, Arkansas called me within 2 days, they had priced the plate with dealership ($280.00) and added in $70.00 for my trouble. I received a check for $350.00 within a week of the incident. Next oil change I brought the plate with me and it was installed after the change at no cost. So....check and see if your shop will give you the same treatment. The only problem I have with them is they don't always have Mobil 1, 0W40 in stock, which appears to be a Mobil problem, not a Wal Mart problem.
