I was on the Zaino car polish website & read that the first step in washing your vehicle is to use Dawn liquid detergent. Anyone use Dawn on their tt?

I think you are referring to this page:

Note that they are talking about washing before *polishing* - the Dawn is going to remove your wax! Because Zaino is a polymer (synthetic), it does not mix well with other waxes (incl carnuba), so the Zaino folk want you to remove as much of your old wax before applying their product. So do not substitute Dawn for your regular car wash unless you plan to complete the entire process (or your paint will have no protection!).
