Interior Motion Sensor
Up to Audi TT Forum
Sorry for all the questions. I just got this car and love it.
However, A few times I have been hanging out in my car and the
alarm went off. Then I find out their is a motion sensor in the car.
So the button to turn it off is on the front center console next to
the gas lid and hatch release. However, my concern is that when I
push the button, the light on the button fails to light up.
1. Is it suppose to?
2. How do I know I successfully turned the alarm off?
3. When should I push the button so the sensor doesn't trigger
and I can sit in my car without having to worry?

I've had this happen as well on my 2002 TT Coupe. It only happens if you unlock the car, get in, and then don't do anything (like start the car). A quick workaround is to start the car, then shut it off. After doing that you can sit there as long as you want.
I've had a similar problem where if I go somewhere, shut the engine off, and sit in the car for about 20 minutes, none of the gas door/motion alarm/rear hatch buttons work, even if I start car. It takes 15 to 20 minutes before they work again. Go figure.
So if I have the car running, then turn the car off.
I can sit there all I want, with out even touching the
motion sensor button?
All the other buttons work.
I just don't want the alarm to go off.

That's how it works with mine. I often pick my son up from school and sit in the car reading for 20 minutes with no trouble.
