Adding missing options

Posted by reedster at May 21. 2005
Ok, I just bought a TT today, and figured it had all the options since it came with navigation. Found out it did not, but the options seem to be easy to me to add on. HomeLink behind the rearview mirror, and heated seats. Basically the premium package stuff. Can anyone answer how easy or not this would be, even if I get the modules from Audi or a scrap yard? Of course, the sales guy at my local Audi says it's all impossible, but I'm not buying that. Adding the navigation, maybe, adding heated seats, c'mon... Seats or pads, wires, and the buttons in the dash... Homelink, it's a remote... Can anyone confirm?? Thanks

The Homelink is more than just the buttons above the mirror. There is a transciever located just behind the right side of the front bumper. I don't know if the cabling for homelink is already in place on your vehicle, but if not, you would probably have to install the Homelink buttons above the mirror, the Homelink transciever on the front bumper, and the cabling between the two.

Yeah, I just noticed that in the owners manual, now that I've had a chance to look through it. Shouldn't be too taxing, I would guess... How about the heated seats option... Anyone have guidance on that venture?
