3.2 Tranny Question
Up to Audi TT Forum
Hi Jim,
Sorry to hear about your troubles.
I'm a little surprised that this happening to you AFTER you had the car in for the DSG recall, as I know of many instances like yours. I'm assuming the DIS with the gears was flashing..
Anyway I was wondering if you happened to try Launch Control before your DSG was replaced, and if it worked, whether it stopped working after the recall.
Good luck with the new tranny!

The other thing I can add to the below ides is that possibly the brakes are frezzing, sticking, and making your tranny's computer system all wonky. I noticed this behavior once when I (*ahem*) left the parking brake set and drove for a few hundred yards -- the engine was racing around, downshifting, downshifting.
As a rule, I don't wash my car when the water can freeze (about 38-degrees is the limit) -- all sorts of mechanical items can freeze.
I I live near Boston, too -- but am out in San Fracnisco just now to see my family. Sunny today, 70 degrees -- but a bit windy. Must fly back tomorrow.

Launch control never worked on my TT from day one. The clutch recall did not seem to affect anything adversly. I think 'winchou' probably hit the nail on the head with ice on the brakes being the cause. Sort of like trying to rev the engine with your foot on the brake - it won't rev too high.
Thanks for all of your replies
