Forbes Review of The Alms Edition Audi TT
Forbes has a full article on the Alms Edition TT .
Before there was the Mini Cooper, there was the Audi TT. Huh? You might think the two cars have nothing in common, right?
After all, the Mini is a front-wheel-drive curb carver that at most costs $25K, while the cheapest TTs go for about $33K, and the better quattro (all-wheel-drive) cars run $36K and up (for 2003 models). Also, the TT is better at high-speed driving--more stable now, thanks to a rear spoiler--and the Mini is great for boulevard cruising or taking a 25 mph turn at 45 mph. In sum, the TT is a sports car; the Mini is an econobox gone mad on steroids.
